client’s expectations, their organisation’s mission, vision and objectives as well as their products and/or services. it is important to go beyond the surface level of what the organisation does and delve into the benefits to their stakeholders and consumers so that this critical component can be translated in the resulting work. 02 research once we have received a project overview from the client we then research their competitors, unique selling points (usps), market, audience, trends, and future prospects. the idea behind researching the client’s competitors is to ensure that we can establish a point of difference between the client and the competition. once we have insight into these areas we can begin to delve into their current and potential stakeholders to further understand their target audience. overall, the purpose of this research is to give the broadest possible view of the client’s ecosystem and generate ideas that fit the market, industry trends, and the client’s audience. 03 creative the combination of briefing and research will open a path to the production of relevant ideas. at this stage each element is given considerable thought before making any firm decisions. this process allows for a creative exploration of how these different elements can work together to support the client’s message. at this stage a list of possible, but undeveloped, approaches is produced. 04 design now we begin to roughly formulate the ideas. although we don’t want to produce anything final at this stage, these initial designs are vital as reference points to enable the client to become involved. this can save an immense amount of time resulting from redo’s and rejections after completion of the design. provision of these preliminary visuals will determine if we are headed in the right direction. from here, we pick the design that ourselves and the client both agree on. 05 artwork we now begin the construction of the selected version. however experimentation is not quite finished. there is still scope at this stage to create several variations of the design that allow us to present options to the client so they can pick the most suitable design. by varying colour palettes, typographic pairings, and grid structures further variations and options can be created for final selection. at this point, it is really important to receive client feedback as we work. we show our draft designs to the client and ask for his/her feedback. it isn’t uncommon to try several rounds of this step before finalisation. 06 refine with a final design in hand, we start the implementation phase by artworking and presenting the final project with content in place. the client has a final opportunity to review the end product and provide feedback. to avoid changes to our final work we spend as much time as we can during the drafting and preliminary work process to help eliminate any costing issues at this stage of the process. details of author’s corrections and any other additional charges will have been included in the original quotation in phase one. 07 deploy finally, the design has been approved, and we are all set to deliver the project. at this stage we then hand over the signed off artwork to the client or a third party, such as a printer that includes any special instructions needed to take the project forward. we remain available
